I call myself a voicewriter rather than a ghostwriter. I am a language alchemist, a pop culture trivia enthusiast, and a singer of obscure Americana and pop. I create copy that connects with your audience, delivers impact, and flexes to fit your needs. Fueled by curiosity, I find it endlessly satisfying when I dig deep into research and find quotes and insights that make a project truly distinctive.

I grew up writing poems and stories simply because I liked stringing words together. I was self-taught in the beginning, mainly mimicking my favorite authors. As I improved, I discovered that this mimicking developed into an ability to write in voices other than my own.

But I began to feel like there were times when I needed a different title. I didn’t always feel like a ghost, so I wanted to find a word that fit me better. I knew there must be other writers like me. I was often part of the client's entire strategy, doing something similar but not quite the same as ghosting.

SO WHAT IS A VOICEWRITER?

I like to think of voicewriting as a "spinoff" of ghostwriting. When you work with a voicewriter, your voice is heard at its highest level because you collaborate. A voicewriter amplifies your voice; she doesn’t take it over. She brings depth and color to your story and message. She develops it all with you, researching facts, quotes, and theories that lend authority and authenticity to your words. She gets your voice in her head and knows when it sounds right or wrong. A voicewriter finds a rhythm with you. Together, you create that thick, lush harmony that one voice can’t make alone. This creates powerful dialogue and crystallizes your voice.

It used to be that people had the choice of creating their own written work or hiring a ghostwriter to do it for them. A voicewriter is a third option. It’s about collaboration. Today, there is no shame in openly saying that you have worked with a writer whose work you admire and respect. This honors the voicewriter, helps leaders extend their message and influence, and allows everyone involved to be ethical and transparent. It shows that the leader understands they can’t do everything themselves and knows how to work with people as a team contributor.

Echoing myself here, because it bears repeating: I believe that wise people leverage the strengths of others.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Precision Matters

Strong writing isn’t just about the words themselves; it’s about presenting them in a way that maintains authority and trust. Nothing should distract from your message or credibility.
