Memoir Writing
What is your story?

Tell Me a Story, Grandma.
There’s magic in our family stories.
Simple memories and ordinary words can unlock entire worlds of discovery.
A family memoir isn’t just about what we know; it’s about what we remember, what we feel, and how we bring the past to life again.
These stories connect generations, helping families understand not just where they came from, but who they are because of it.
“When a man or woman dies without telling their story, it is the equivalent of a library burning down.”
— Alex Haley
Why MEMOIRS Matter
Family stories are more than history — they’re an inheritance.
Photographs fade, but the voices behind them can live on through story.
A well-told memoir preserves the humor, resilience, lessons, and love that make a family unique.
It becomes a bridge across time, written for children, grandchildren, and those not yet born.
HOW I HELP YOU TELL IT
When I was eighteen, my grandfather started writing a book of his life.
In my grandparents’ guest room (“the blue room,” as they called it), he organized photographs across the blue bedspread in perfect chronological order to help him recall the stories he wanted to tell.
I was amazed by the wild stories he had lived. My grandfather was always a kind and loving man, but I never knew the daredevil from these tales!
He began to fill his book with care and purpose, but dementia took some of this stories before he could finish.
I often wish I could have helped him capture those memories.
That’s why I do this work.
As your voicewriter, I help you gather your memories — whether they’re tucked into journals, photo albums, or recipe cards — and turn them into a cohesive, heartfelt book that sounds like you.

TOGETHER, WE'LL:
-
Shape your memories into chapters that flow naturally.
-
Find the themes that tie your life together: the turning points, lessons, and loves.
-
Keep the tone authentic, conversational, and true to your voice.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE
Writing your story can feel like a big project, but you don’t need to have it all figured out.
My job is to listen, ask the right questions, and help you uncover the thread that connects it all.
We’ll take it one conversation at a time, transforming your memories into a legacy that your family can hold in their hands.
Your family’s past deserves to be remembered, retold, and passed forward, so the generations after you can keep adding to the story.
